Sarah Jane Rousseau became one of Marion County, Iowa's earliest settlers, after her husband surveyed the land in 1845 and decided to become a physician there. Originally from England, during Jane Austen's storied Regency Era, Sarah was a member of the gentry and a highly accomplished pianoforte player. After immigrating to the US, she became a sought-after finished school teacher and was even almost a First Lady!
So join us on Saturday, November 14th, four 1-2:30pm, to learn about the culture, romance, and pressure that shaped the author of the most exquisite Westward tale ever told!
