FAQ

Do you ship internationally?

No. We do not and will not ship internationally or anywhere outside of the continental United States due to strict and important wildlife laws. Please do not ask.

Do you buy items?

Occasionally we will purchase special, one of a kind items like taxidermy from customers and locals. Please DO NOT bring anything into the shop to be appraised unless we have instructed you to do so first. If you have an item you are interested in selling please email us first using our contact form here and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Where do you get all of your items?

We have a variety of established connections and vendors all over the US and abroad. Many of our insects are sourced from insect farms after their natural deaths. Most of the taxidermy we sell is vintage, although some of our pieces have been mounted more recently and are from zoos, farms, and more.

Are animals killed to be sold as gifts?

Absolutely not. At Curious Nature we pride ourselves on ethically sourcing all of our products. Our owner was a veterinary technician for over ten years and still knows many people in the industry; we receive donated dead animals and insects from local pet shops, rehabilitation centers, and the herpetology center in Phoenix. Most of our bones and skulls are by products of other industries such as farming and zoos, or are salvaged from roadkill animals. Most if not all of our taxidermy is vintage or from a minimum of ten years ago. As of writing this, we have a Dall Sheep mount that is going on about 47 years old. We try to recycle and reuse as much of an animal as possible and commemorate it after death as a way of paying tribute, so to speak.
